Supported by infrastructure push, GCC growth, and rising domestic capital, the sector is poised for sustainable expansion toward the $1 trillion mark by 2030. Experts expect recovery in sales in coming quarters with focus on quality projects in prime locations.

India's real estate sector is showing steady resilience in 2026 despite some short-term pressures. Institutional investments surged strongly, while luxury demand remains robust even as overall home sales moderated.

Key Highlights:

  • Institutional Inflows Boom: Investments hit USD 2.9 billion in Q2 CY2026, up 70% YoY (Colliers). Chennai and Bengaluru led with 27% share, mostly in offices. For H1, total inflows reached USD 4.3 billion, up 23%, with domestic investors contributing a record 64% (JLL).

  • Residential Sales Dip: Sales across top 7 cities fell 6% YoY in Q2 to around 90,700 units due to global uncertainties and seasonal factors. New launches rose 7%. Prices continue to firm up, especially in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi-NCR.

Luxury Spotlight: Oberoi Realty's Three Sixty North in Gurugram created waves, clocking over ₹8,100 crore in bookings on launch day for its ultra-luxury homes — a strong sign of premium demand.
